Hello & Welcome!

Welcome to Horse Dancing.  These pages aren’t only about horses. They are about living wide awake in the body, creating an improvisational life, being an artist, and the practice of  showing up every day.  A part of that is also about what horses and other beings – two and four-footed – are teaching me about that journey.

You can read the long bio here if you wish, and watch some lovely videos of the horse (and human) dancing I have done here and here.

But this is where I am putting it down on the page every day.

Here’s what I’m writing about

  • body presence or body dharma: a deep and sensuous awareness of and connection to the body
  • nourishing a sense of improvisation  in work and play.
  • what horses (and other species) can teach us.
  • following a spiritual path.
  • lessening the commute between the virtual and physical worlds.

who:  My background is as an improviser, dancer, choreographer, writer, rider, teacher, yogi, body worker, and actor. For the past fourteen years I have made dances with horses.  Since I was in third grade, I have been writing passionately. For the past twenty years I have said I would write a book. Now I write a blog and have three books in the works.

what: I am dedicated to  nourishing improvisational practice in work and play.  How to be  non-habitual in mind and body.  My research is embodied 100% of the time.

why: I believe in deepening practice in the body.  Finding ways to expand knowing with all of our six trillion cells, not just in the ones that perch on our necks.

where: I work with dancers, visual artists, actors, writers, horse people and folks of all backgrounds interested in spiritual and physical practice.

how: You can subscribe to my daily posts here. You can visit my website hereI am a creativity and performance coach. You can work with me one-to-one via telephone, skype or in person by contacting me here.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for visiting and sharing my site!
